Um where is my review from a decade ago?!! Enjoyed this place many times & look forward to it each year during our Maine jaunt.
Love this little tucked away spot.
Everything is very good. Crab cakes, fish & chips, mussels, chowder, nothing disappoints.
It's a tight squeeze inside w a football & politics theme lining the walls & ceiling. It feels like a neighborhood place.
My favorite is the outdoor little alcove courtyard w bistro tables overlooking the water.
Great bloody Mary's too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 11, 2012Previous reviewThis is my personal slice of water view cocktail/dining chill out heaven.
The little 6 seat alcove just outside the loung entry is just the best kind of spot. I honestly hate to share it (selfish I know but you can't blame me on this one).
Crushed clam shells for the base, antique maritime artifacts patina-ed or rusted adorn the now chic sustainable drift wood fencing with Xmas lighting sown in-between with a view of the quint Cape Porpoise harbor while one lounges in the primary color Adorondack chairs w defunct wagons for tables while cool tunes waif through the speakers. What's not to love?!
Everything is good here & the menu is quite ecclectic but these are some of the stand outs: Portugees mussels w chorizo, fish & chips w their home made tangy slaw, Mediterranean salad, bloody Mary's, great beer selections.
The lounge gets crowded, hot & the wait can be hard but the staff is fairly cool.
The interior has an old school sports theme & the restroom has advertisements, headline news & music posters from some the the most shocking, famous & intrequing events from the last century- no wonder the wait is so long! - Sep 11, 2021
You can't be the ambiance, location, and eclectic decor. When in Maine.
Came here for the lobster roll and it didn't disappoint. Cold mayo version, prefer the warm butter, but it was still delish with lots of big chunks of lobster.
Could NOT stop eating the onion strings. So darn good!
Clam chowder was also very good.
Also had the whole belly clams. Great breading and portion was huge.
Best place in the area and off the beaten path.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Jun 14, 2020Updated review
Updated June 14: since our last pre-lockdown meal was here at the bar, we came back to eat outside. Three months later seems like three years but the Ramp is still the reliable and welcoming place we've loved for years.
Probably my favorite place in the area. Such a fun atmosphere and the bartenders (we like to sit at the bar) are always friendly and competent. I love the fried clams. The onion strings are also terrific, as is the hummus plate starter. We tend to stick with those favorites but should branch out after the summer crush is over. Have confidence that anything we'd try would be well preparedHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 18, 2018Previous reviewProbably my favorite place in the area. Good place to get the perfect well-done burger with fancy fries. Boyfriend got the grilled Mahi with strawberry salsa, what a great combo.
Tip - it's a small place for winter lunch time and was packed on a Saturday afternoon.
Service is quick and very friendly. The wall has interesting sports stuff.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Phil S.Kennebunkport, ME2431Nov 7, 2022
The Ramp was our favorite bar/restaurant in KBunk but it has closed and the building is for sale. Very sad to see it and all the good folks who worked there are gone.

This is a perfect restaurant. Unfortunately, it's closing at the end of September 2022. Hopefully you got a chance to try it before then.

You arrive and the place is full of seaside town charm, on the water, ambiance is great. The menu sounded great but fell very flat. First, I had a Margarita ( $18 For one!) crazy, it was an early dinner right at 5 when they open for meals. I ordered the salad with feta and watermelon and added Chicken. There were 3 thin chicken breasts that were so tough and over cooked I could barely cut them. Dressing was bland. My husband ordered a seafood pasta dish, fresh but also very bland, barely any seasoning. This place could be great, but their food is mediocre and expensive.

I had the lobster roll and it was pretty disappointing. It was more like tuna salad, where the lobster was all mashed up with a few lobster chunks here and there. Taste was Ok, but not what I am used to or what I would want in a maine lobster roll. Overall presentation was sort of sad for a $34 lobster roll, with potato chips an inedible pickle spear and some random pieces of tomatos.

What a fun place for drinks and appetizers. We had the lobster rolls and clam chowder soup. Both were excellent.
Place is filled with sports and political memorabilia from the past 70 years.
You also have a great view of the lighthouse on Goat Island.
Very eclectic and a must stop when in Kennebunkport.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
