Amazing local restaurant that provides exceptional catering and event space for corporate parties. I'm so thankful our organization chose Riviera's everything was perfect. From the food, from the service, they made sure we were taken care of and had the best time. Definitely five stars. Great local establishment!

Very sorry to say this but was very disappointed, especially with the service. Good was just ok but was more upsetting was our waiter. He rushed us the minute we sat down. Ordered appetizers and he wanted to take out food order right away. We explained we wanted to have our drinks and appetizer first. Still came over after a short time and again wanted to take out food order. We did but with hesitation. I don't think he ever came and asked us if the food was ok. He basically threw the check on the table. I believe I saw him roll his eyes when we asked for something. It was a part of 6 and we will never return. We all had the same feeling. Food was not very good either. A very busy night but that is no excuse.

Once again, delicious grilled octopus and lobster Ravioli was very good and generous portion was lunch and dinner for my husband and myself. Bottle of Vinho Verde. Flan and coffee and brandy. A date before the snow storm. Perfect great service as well. Life is good.

We have been many times but it had been a little while so there we were. Delicious choice of specials for the evening. I had Salon Mozambique and my husband had Steak tips and we too an order of Lipits (grilled lapas from the Azores) to go. No photo, forgot to take one. My dad loved the lipits, gave his nod and smirk of approval while eating them as his Halloween treat. The staff at Riviera is super. They're always so welcoming, checking on us often, and the owner is always there greeting his patrons. My husband was seated next to the little gas fireplace which he loved because it was chilly out and he had a light jacket. So he was so happy to be in the warmest seat. Great experience, once again.
Dec 2, 2022Previous reviewA very satisfying dinner, Sunday after the thanksgiving holiday. The restaurant was busy and cheery, we sat in the fireplace room, which felt nice and toasty. The service was excellent, our waiter, Frank, is always super professional and attentive. The food was delicious and hot, we also were served their warm house bread with our dinner which is also always so good and adored even though we always say we shouldn't have it. Dessert was totally unnecessary after such a satisfying dinner but we had to go for it and no regrets. Delicious....great job Riviera, our family of 4 was happy:)
Mar 25, 2021Previous reviewDelicious Portuguese food. Authentic sauces with delicious seasonings and great portions. One dinner is easily shareable if you don't want to be stuffed. A great starter for takeout or dine in is their Mozambique pizza.
If you like octopus, they prepare a lovely grilled octopus with boiled potatoes and onions with a mixed greens salad(the octopus is my favourite). Also can't go wrong with their Portuguese Steak with fried egg, delicious "mulho" aka homemade steak sauce with a slice of spicy pickled and grilled red pepper, round fries and seasoned rice. We also had a shrimp and a chicken Mozambique Entree...everyone was totally satisfied. Our dinner was takeout, we grabbed it right on time and everything was still warm 20 mins after pickup. Great family dinner. - Goretti M.North Providence, RI03857Sep 9, 2023

First Beatriz C shouldn't be a server. In the middle of ordering appetizers she cuts us off and leaves, so we get one order instead of three. But since all the food was lousy she did us a favor. We were able to order one round of drinks, because she NEVER came back to check on us. The grilled chicken was extremely rubbery, so probably frozen and overcooked. The seafood platter was completely flavorless, even salt did not help. It most likely was old, frozen and cooked while frozen. Spiderwebs all around our eating area in the completely enclosed "patio." I don't think it's ever been wiped down. I did try to call instead of leaving this review, but the manager was to busy to take my call.

This is a a pretty traditional Portuguese restaurant with some america twists. Came here on a Sunday (with a reservation) with my family and extended family. The server was very attentive, an older gentleman who really knew his stuff. The place starts off with bread and butter which was good, and we found out that the bread is actually made in-house!
We also ordered chouriço, little necks, shrimp Mozambique, and calamari. All of the appetizers I really liked except for the shrimp mozambique, I felt it needed some more flavor. The calamari was some of the best we have ever had, not chewy and had a delicious batter - highly recommend.
For an entree I ordered the stuffed shrimp. It comes with a side of melted butter, steamed vegetables, and for my potato I got mashed potato. The shrimp stuffing was tasty but I found it to be a bit on the dry side so I definitely kept dipping it in butter. The mashed potatoes were great and the steamed veggies just needed a little salt and pepper - which I did myself. Overall this place is good for large groups and the food is pretty good. Great to celebrate events.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rose B.East Providence, RI02Apr 8, 2024
Always a great experience with all my visits, from having my 22 your old's baptism party too being at the outdoor patio ( 15 years ago ) enjoying cocktails with friends. Great memories with the Mendes family and making new memories with the new owners. Food and service has always been 5 stars, weather eating in or ordering for my family functions.

A mainland style Portuguese restaurant. The service was good. Our waiter who had a French accent and was very attentive. I enjoyed the food. I had the baked stuffed shrimp with potato and vegetables. Everything was very good. The mashed potatoes were more like delmonico potatoes, and that made them even better. The Portuguese bread was also fresh. For dessert, I had flan. Price wise, it was a little expensive but not extremely. I would have rather we sat in the main dining room because the banquet room was chilly. We ordered soup and bread to go also.
