sorry, I meant to post this earlier but I got locked out my car. I was so excited about decluttering everything that I accidentally left my keys in my trunk. doh! I highly recommend OC Recycling. Friendly staff, super efficient. Great energy all around - both the staff and the customers.

May 23, 2021Previous reviewAlways been very professional for their works.
I came here for over 5 years, and they always stay as exceptional!! - Feb 1, 2023
We have been collecting most of our cans and bottles during COVID and I finally had a chance to take them in to the center. The system was very organized with bins for your items (you must separate them yourself), a line to weigh them, and a cashier station to cash out your receipt.
PRO TIP: bring latex gloves since everything is covered in a thin layer of grime from all the recycling residue.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joey B.Orange, CA020Sep 26, 2023Updated review
One of my absolute favorite things a company can do when they receive a bad review is completely gloss over whatever issues the customer had to say something like, "yOu LeAvE A LoT oF neGaTivE reVieWs!", which is code for, "this person only complains so dont take them seriously."
Here's the thing, anybody else reading my review can come to their own conclusions about what I said. Yes, I was able to get in and out of there quickly, which was a positive, however I'm not going to stand in line for 5-10 minutes for 31 cents, that would just be a waste of my time and honestly, who knows if the cashier would even take me seriously because who does that? At that point its a lost cause so I cut my losses and left.
The most telling part about about your response is that at no point did you apologize for what happened or even comment that apparently its possible for somebody to obtain another persons complete name and address AND DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER. YIKES!
I dont know about you, but at every place I have worked at, keeping customers private information confidential is extremely important and not only does your company not do that, you dont even seem to think its a big deal when it does happen, as evidenced by your complete failure to address that part of my review, which was the main issue I had with my experience there. It doesnt matter that it wasnt my PPI (personal private information), I would be absolutely mortified if a company I did business with was handing that out willy nilly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Joey, it sound like there was an error made at the payout window and rather then ask for assistance you'd prefer to take a positive experience and turn it into a bad review online?... You seem to have a history of it. We have a long history of taking care of our customers.
Jun 27, 2023Previous reviewOk so after my last recycling disaster with A&M Metals, I decided to try out OC Recycling. As you can see my review for this place is also one star.
First, the good thing about this place. Like A&M, you can get in and out pretty quick, dont have to wait in line very long.
Now on to the bad.
Brought in some stuff to recycle and the total came out to $4.41. Not a big deal, it was just stuff I needed gone. Went to the cashier with my receipt and they asked for my first and last name and then handed me a receipt to sign. Handed it back and they handed me my money...4 dollars and two nickels. Thats not $4.41. Honestly, it seems weird to get back in line to say, "Hey, can I have thirty one cents?" Looked down at my receipt and heres the best part:
Apparently when they look up your name its because they add you to some sort of database so when they asked me for my first and last name they found somebody else and gave me a random stranger's COMPLETE NAME, ADDRESS AND DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER!
That is not very cool. Im glad they dont have any of that info on me to give to some rando with the same name as me. Honestly, Ill never come back here just for that alone. WTF, doxxing your customers out of carelessness? - Vince B.Corona, CA04Mar 10, 2024
Great recycle center. They take electronics and anything metal. In addition they do aluminum and plastic and glass!! They also have pickup service for some cities!

I had no idea what I was doing since it was my first time there, so let me explain so you don't act dumb like me:
1. enter the parking lot and park somewhere on the left side
2. grab a few of the yellow bins located in the center
3. separate your recycles (pro tip: you should already be separating them at home, so this part should be easy)
4. bring your yellow bins to the guy in the center with the computer - he adds up your recycles and gives you a receipt
5. take the receipt to the cashier and get paid!!
if you're like me, I already had my recycles separated so the whole process was a breeze, there was just a line for the cashier, but you can be in and out if you prepare ahead of time. Seems like people spend most of their time separating their materials by their car.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ning F.Orange, CA05Feb 13, 2024
It is a very great business and there is good cash when you recycle. The line is quick and the staff is friendly.

Reducing waste & getting money in return? why not! There are many benefits to recycling, half the battle is having motivation to drive to the recycling center to drop them off. Ever since moving back to Irvine, I have been looking for a recycling facility closer to take all the cans in. Thanks to Yelp, this place seemed legit so I ended up going here.
I went on a weekend & it was pretty busy. I ended up turning in about 54 lbs of cans, paying $1.65/lb. I ended up getting a little over $27 which is about average every time I go.
My only complaint about this place is that the bins you use to put your recyclables in seemed dirty & I didn't like touching them. I get it, recycling can get messy. But maybe provide paper towels or something to avoid touching the bins.
I'll definitely be back here since it was an easy process overall.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Steve N.Costa Mesa, CA01Jan 27, 2024

This was my first time going here and my first time turning in copper wire that I had. I found out after that they screwed me on what they gave. They new I was new at it because I was asking how the process worked, and they took advantage. I am now being told I should have got double what they gave it to me for which would have equaled about $30 extra.
Lessoned learned. Don't go here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

T.J., We pay equal or better then everyone in the area. When different grades of materials are mixed together then the payouts are less, perhaps that is what happened. We always try to take care of our customers so please ask the scale technicians if you have questions in the future.
