DJ For Hire

He had a great set up for our wedding. He was organized, had all the songs we requested ahead of time, kept to the timeline unless we needed it to change a bit, and best of all he was very reasonably priced. We had a small wedding and he kept everyone dancing. There were a few times I wished he showed a little bit more charisma when he was on the mic but at least he didn't over talk and become annoying. There were also a couple of songs that got cut off unexpectedly a little early with no fade out. I would still say he was the best bang for our buck though!

We had dj for hire at our wedding on 4/12/2013. Dexter ( the owner) did our show.

Dexter basically ran the entire show. He knows weddings and basically did what a wedding coordinator would do.

Dexter is full if energy and helps keep the party rocking.

After the show we had quite a few complements on him. A few people who were recently married wishes that had him. My dad even though he was cool. Which is a huge complement.

Is recommend him for wedding or any other even. Good guy and great dj.

Dexter is awesome! True professional. Kept the floor jumping all night long. Excellent DJ. Very good at what he does.

We chose Dexter to dj our daughter's wedding on June 4, 2016. As an employee of KindredOaks wedding venue, I have worked often with Dexter and knew he was an energetic dj. He is always punctual, professional, and certainly knows his job. He's also just a lot of fun to be around! In spite of all that, I was somewhat concerned about his ability to get our guests on the dance floor. The majority of our guests were a scholarly bunch that I couldn't envision on the dance floor. (To say it bluntly, we had a large contingent of college nerds, ) But Dexter worked his magic and had the entire group rocking all night long! He has a gift for choosing music that the group responds to, as well as mixing in personal requests. The bride and groom were delighted. Thanks, Dexter for bringing the party to Kindred Oaks!

I work at a country club and for all major functions we hire Dexter. He is amazing! He knows exactly what the members want.

During the dancing portion there was always someone on the dance floor. He played a good variety of songs that just about everyone liked. My issue with Dexter was the customer service. I felt like he never got to know me or my fiancé, he never followed up with us about our song selection, and I felt he left everything to the last minute. I called him the Tues before my wedding to finally get him to go over the set list with me and he was confused about why I was calling until he realized that my wedding was in 4 days. He did have the set list ready to go over, but he had made some decisions about the music without asking us about it, so we got into a bit of a heated discussion. But, like he always said "trust your DJ", so I did, and his choices turned out ok. He was not good at picking up on cues: my husband and I got to the end of the aisle before he started the recession song, and we discussed with him that the mother-son dance needed to be less than a minute because my mother-in-law had recently had surgery. The song went on for longer than a minute and we gave him 3 blatant cues before he transitioned out of it. My mother-in-law almost passed out. We did appreciate his flexibility on the day because my husband and I cut out early and skipped a lot of the formal stuff so he had to change up his show on the spot, and he did very well with that. His assistant was amazing, I was so glad she was there to help me. But the one thing that really ticked me off most was at the end of the night (7:30pm), I heard he was asked to stay an extra hour and he "whined" to my dad and two of my aunts about being tired and not wanting to stay. He did stay and still put on a good show for that hour, but I was beyond upset hearing about that. I bet Dexter is a great DJ for clubs and dances, but I wouldn't recommend him to someone planning a wedding. Especially considering he was the most expensive DJ that we interviewed, by far. But we were grateful for the military discount.
