Darn you, typhoid! Daaaaaaaaaaaarn you!!!!!!!

Here's your chance to die of dysentery on the Oregon Trail again -- and you don't have to leave your office cubicle to do it.

"Oregon Trail," a game played by pretty much any kid born in the '70s and '80s, is among some 2,400 vintage games available to play through your web browser. Right now. ... For free.

You can strike out on the "Oregon Trail" by clicking right here. Just watch out for those bandits -- and try not to shoot all the buffalo, eh?

A big ol' tip of the hat to the Washington Post's Abby Ohlheiser for this massive time suck!

Some other favorites of Free Press staffers that are available:

  • "Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego?": This game made learning about U.S. geography fun. Kids would fly around the country investigating leads to track down a thief.
  • "Sim City" : The game that spawned a million urban-planning majors -- or at least armchair urban planners. Build your own city, laying roads, sewers and more. And the best part: Destroy it with a natural disaster or mutant monster.
  • "Odell Lake": You're a fish. Deal with it. But you're gonna have to escape those hungry otters.
  • "Number Munchers": This educational game helped kids conquer basic math skills by munching away multiples, factors, primes and more before getting eaten by a Trogglus normalus.
  • "Wolfenstein 3D":The granddaddy of all first-person shooters. Before there was "Halo" or "Call of Duty," there was "Wolfenstein," a game where you ran around mowing down Nazis with machine guns, all while wearing out your space bar while trying to find hidden rooms.
  • "Master of Orion": Conquer the galaxy in this popular turn-based game.
  • "Hugo's House of Horrors": For some reason, your girlfriend went to baby-sit at a haunted house. It's your job to rescue her.
  • "Commander Keen": There are several games in this beloved series starring boy genius Billy (Commander Keen) Blaze, that you can play.
  • "Prince of Persia": This is the original of this classic series that has been remade over and over. Use your wits to solve puzzles and escape a dungeon.
  • "Maniac Mansion": The LucasArts game that inspired so many other classics, including "Day of the Tentacle."
