Scotch N Sirloin

We came here looking for a meal that served the seafood and meat craving. Unfortunately, it was not provided.

The waitress was great but seemed also annoyed that she had to talk to us. It felt like we more of an inconvenience that we were there. The bar area with the enticing popcorn and fireplace was where I wish had been. Regular dining was very cold.

This place has been here for a long time and I think that they are a bit tired of providing good food service. The steak as a medium was good but the salmon was way too watery for me which I felt was undercooked and stopped eating. The sweet potato fries were good but we both felt stomach issues the next day.

Unless it's for a drink and popcorn, we won't be back.

What a wonderful place. Had the salad bar, very good. Than scallops and clam casino, so good. Than we had filet mignon reg. and filet mignon king cut and I had the night special filet mignon with black pepper corn and topped with blue cheese butter. All the steak was great, baked potato was good too. Dessert was good enough to share. Wait person was great, there when I wanted something and not they're to bother me. The whole experience was great. So very sad that they are closing next week for good.

This place is closing after years of good food and service. We always enjoyed the salad bar in the dining room. But our favorite was sitting in the lounge next to the real wood fire on a cool evening munching on popcorn listening to live music. It'll be missed.

Food here is no joke. Highly recommend going here. The steaks are so good. Definitely nice to bring the family there.

Food was great this time. I had a salad with a very good house balsamic and the cedar plank salmon with baked potato. The rub that is on the salmon is so tasty with just the right amount of kick. It was cooked perfectly.
My friend was pleased with his chicken teriyaki.
Waiter was so kind.
The only thing preventing me from putting 5 stars is that it took a whole hour from the time we ordered to get our entrees. Other than that, the experience was much better than last time!

Left one star because I had to leave something , old fashioned steak house that's been around since I can remember which has in my opinion gone downhill and is not what it use to be. The sirloin steak I had was flavorless , they served snap peas ass a vegetable of the day when at one time you could get the salad bar with all the works eggs, bacon ect to now being an up charge of 8.00. I knew it was something to it also when my mother didn't even want to take the remainder of her steak home. For the $ I paid could have gotten better steak at the road house, long horn ect. My baked potato was over cooked , table bread was warm , snap peas tasted like they were just boiled in flavorless water all in out Rest In Paradise scotch n sirloin

Haven't been to Scotch & Sirlon for quite awhile. This past September, purchased a $30 Groupon toward 2 dinner meals.

During COVID19, I've found that different restaurants and their quality and service vary from place to place.

My meal ordered was a petite sirlion with vegetables and seasoned rice. The steak was cooked fine, food sides were nothing that blew me away,flavor wise or seasoning. My suggestion is to have a smaller size for your petite cut steaks; not everyone can eat 10 oz steaks.

My mom ordered petite filet minon, vegetables,side order of crock French onion soup and sweet potato fries. Sadly, her steak was cooked medium well, not medium. The vegetables and sweet potatoes were cooked . The vegetables though and steak lacked flavor and seasoning.

The three star rating; was for the French onion crock soup. We both were shocked, on the presentation from a finer steak house of the soup. Four thick slices of mozzarella and croutons in two separate baggies, along with two small size containers of soup. The price of the crock in my opinion was high, for what was received at $8.

The service was excellent when calling in the order and pick up. Plan to go elsewhere in future, when indoor dining opens for smaller portion sizes of steak.

Perhaps the yelp community has already given a very honest picture of this place and the owner of the restaurant doesn't seem to invest in making this place better. Scotch n Sirloin (SnS) is strategically located right next to the Wegmans in Amherst and I believe every now and then people would like to hop in after a long grocery shopping. Sadly that's not the case. First of all SnS looks like this abandoned house where no one goes. Indeed I have been in Buffalo for 8 years, the restaurant looks the same as it was 8 years back. So that tells a lot about a place.

When you enter the restaurant you get this rustic look, as if you are in a cabin and you are in for some barbecue/steak/grill etc. What I feel is that in such case to aid in to that look, the restaurant staffs, the plates need to be more polished. Unfortunately SnS looks pretty ordinary. Honestly, their website looks better.

The menu is very similar to any high-end fine-dining restaurant. The prices are all listed on their website so I won't comment on them. They have different portion sizes for three different type of steaks. Plus they have some seafood options and salads. We had ordered NY sirloin and top sirloin, all medium-rare. They didn't have much customer when we went, so I don't know why they took so long to prepare that they had to serve two rounds of bread. The plating of the foods also look pretty ordinary, served on ordinary looking plates. Honestly, a burger joint can serve its food on better plates. The top sirloin was extra burnt on the outside and it was little more pinkish than it should be for medium-rare. It lacked seasoning. The NY strip was comparatively better. Honestly, the things I really liked were the sweet potato fries and the complimentary breads.

I don't know whether I was already biased by all the reviews or is it that SnS doesn't simply care. Probably they have a few loyal customers that they would like to cater to and they don't care about others. In that case, its a wastage of such a huge space. It was a treat from a good friend of mine, so all the stars of this review goes to it.

Ever year we celebrate our birthdays, the food was great and the service was outstanding, the strat was perfectly cooked med rare, and that salad was fresh and the mushrooms are the best, I really enjoyed my birthday dinner and we also had a Groupon for $30 off

Went this eve it was great. The place looks great our waiter was super nice and the food was amazing!
